Raman FibreScience makes advanced materials for filtration and battery separator applications

Hollingsworth & Vose, a global leader in the supply of advanced materials for filtration, battery separator and industrial applications, has acquired Mysore, India-based Raman FibreScience (RFS), effective immediately. Raman FibreScience is a technology and innovation-driven company specializing in advanced materials for filtration media and battery separator applications. Commenting on the acquisition, H&V CEO Val Hollingsworth says, “Raman FibreScience has a strong team with considerable experience in wetlaid fiber-based technology. For H&V, India represents an important market and the RFS location and team provide H&V with an operational base with which to serve our customers and grow our India presense.” Aroon Raman, managing director and founder of Raman FibreScience added “The company will be in good hands with H&V. We are both privately held companies with world-class technical capabilities with a policy of investing for the long term and so have a strong common vision and organizational culture. I have no doubt Raman FibreScience, its employees and customers and employees will prosper under H&V.” Aroon will continue on the board of the acquired company. H&V entered the Indian market in 2011 when it formed a joint venture with Nath Group. This venture operates a water and solvent-based engine filter media plant near Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
